But to his dismay, Agustín Saelices quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 5 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Sportivo Mela Banco's Marcial Ticho. Marcial Ticho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zeledon Ilazki kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Sportivo Mela Banco's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Marcial Ticho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcial Ticho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of the match. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Sportivo Mela Banco's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcial Ticho despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Sportivo Mela Banco's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Marcial Ticho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sportivo Mela Banco's goalkeeper Marcial Ticho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Filiberto Sauveur's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcial Ticho saved Sportivo Mela Banco from getting behind. In the 38th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Sportivo Mela Banco's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcial Ticho quite easily take care of the ball. In the 45th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcial Ticho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The Sportivo Mela Banco players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-3.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Luis Andino was extremely unlucky when he, in the 51st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Marcial Ticho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Agustín Saelices managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustín Saelices was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcial Ticho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute, Agustín Saelices left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Marcial Ticho made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. 70 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcial Ticho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Sportivo Mela Banco's Marcial Ticho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Sportivo Mela Banco from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 79th minute of play forced Sportivo Mela Banco's goalkeeper Marcial Ticho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Carlos Sendoa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sportivo Mela Banco's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Sendoa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcial Ticho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 90 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ecuador played a much better game than Sportivo Mela Banco and deserved their victory. The Sportivo Mela Banco players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
