The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chicão de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 7th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Beto Neves could shoot a difficult shot in the 11th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. After 12 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Beto Neves who took care of the corner kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sílvio Luiz da Costa got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 15th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Chorche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maximiliano Chorche scored 1-0 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 30 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Víktor Guerra came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maximiliano Chorche made a kick off. Víktor Guerra hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maximiliano Chorche's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. In the 66th minute Maximiliano Chorche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Torino SSA's Sam Galvan got a free kick in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chicão de Azevedo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto Neves in the 78th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Chicão de Azevedo in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Chorche, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
