In the 8th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidoro Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 12th minute of play forced Nippur de Lagash 2's goalkeeper Tito Chayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Berganza in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tito Chayo saved Nippur de Lagash 2 from getting behind. If Reynaldo De Mitri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 36th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tito Chayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Tomas Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nippur de Lagash 2's goalkeeper Tito Chayo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Nippur de Lagash 2 booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Hernan Lehen made the kick off in the second half. Marcos Cotilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Casimiro Cordarell's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Alex Cambeiro hit a great ball. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tito Chayo having to interfere. When Israel Oliviero came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Nippur de Lagash 2 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Israel Oliviero couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Berganza in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tito Chayo saved Nippur de Lagash 2 from getting behind. 73 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Casimiro Cordarell came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Casimiro Cordarell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Cotilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Tomas Berganza hit a great ball. After 83 played minutes Nippur de Lagash 2 got a freekick which was hit by Israel Oliviero. When Panama's Tomas Berganza in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nippur de Lagash 2's goalie prevented a goal. In the 88th minute of the match Israel Oliviero shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Cotilla showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tito Chayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
