Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Arquímedes Ladio started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Domingo Librado took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramon Abila in the 20th minute. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jeremias Cordario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Arquímedes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrico Petrini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeremias Cordario didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felix Montenegro went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Arquímedes's Jeremias Cordario proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Arquímedes from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arquímedes Ladio, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute.
