In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Caco Azevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jaime Pardo to strike the kick off in the second half. Caco Azevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaime Pardo in the 53rd minute. After some careless play in the SORRISO E. C. defense, Jaime Pardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Caco Azevedo. The SORRISO E. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Caco Azevedo should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, SORRISO E. C.'s Caco Azevedo got control of the ball when Jaime Pardo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Primitivo Escribano got free with Caco Azevedo in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 69 minutes in the game Raul Venegas did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Hector Covarrubias. After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Mateus Salgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and Mateus Salgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 76 minutes into the match, SORRISO E. C.'s Leopoldo Trancoso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacobo Nores narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jaime Pardos short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Caco Azevedo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Primitivo Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caco Azevedo having to interfere. SORRISO E. C.'s Caco Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save SORRISO E. C. from getting a goal against them. SORRISO E. Jaime Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Caco Azevedo made a huge save. Juan Diego Tenorio made in the 91st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Hector Covarrubias. In the 95th minute, Hector Covarrubias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Caco Azevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5.
