A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Joel Gaona hit a great ball. Bernardo Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 8th minute of play. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Alberto Tafalla got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-1. 9 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardo Moreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bernardo Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 15th minute of play. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giorgian Arrascaeta in the 16th minute of play. After 17 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Warren FC - DMZ's Bernardo Moreira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Bernardo Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 20th minute of play. Bernardo Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 23rd minute of the match. After 23 minutes, Giorgian Arrascaeta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Warren FC - DMZ and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mexico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Giorgian Arrascaeta scored to the left of an out of position Dante Lacasa, making the score, 1-2. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Bernardo Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Warren FC - DMZ's José Romero was substituted for Bunda Cagara. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Warren FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Peder Ferro. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Tafalla in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernardo Moreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Ladislao Bermudo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Lacasa was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Bermudo in the 58th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. One of Warren FC - DMZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mexico:s goal. Bernardo Moreira had in the 89thth minute some difficulties stopping Joel Gaona's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Elano Matos's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elano Matos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th minute, one of Warren FC - DMZ:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Warren FC - DMZ. The goalkeeper, Bernardo Moreira, was totally fooled by Mexico's Joel Gaona, who 95 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 101st minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Moreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Warren FC - DMZ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
