The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egídio Tinoco, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egídio Tinoco in the 5th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Egídio Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Egídio Tinoco got free with Benito Sanz in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leopoldo Varela hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. If Ernani Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egídio Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Capivariano F.C. booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Egídio Tinoco notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Egídio Tinoco in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Egídio Tinoco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. In the 38th minute, Capivariano F.C.'s Egídio Tinoco dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Egídio Tinoco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot.

Capivariano F.C.'s Thiago Soberano quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Efrain Moruga, made in the 52nd minute of the game. 54 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Capivariano F.C.'s Thiago Soberano quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 56 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. Egídio Tinoco scored 6-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Egídio Tinoco took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Wágner Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Egídio Tinoco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Capivariano F.C.'s Egídio Tinoco got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Mario Ardoin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Capivariano F.C. made a substitution. Bernard Juroszek replaced Ernani Paraíba. Capivariano F.C.'s Lukas Martinsson was substituted for Egídio Tinoco. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by Costa Rica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mario Ardoin was slow to take the kick. During this time Capivariano F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lukas Martinsson's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Lukas Martinsson took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. The excitement rose when Capivariano F.C.'s Mario Ardoin after 92 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Costa Rica's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 10-0. Lukas Martinsson took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 11-0.
