In the 8th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Felix van As came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agustín Saelices in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yorrick Zoethout prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 20th minute, Steven Homan fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Julio Vera, passed just outside the right post. Yorrick Zoethout showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The supporters of SV Balverliefd booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix van As in the 30th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Philippe-Arnaud Van Cleijnenbreugel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Homan in the 41st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Steven Homan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 1-1 in the 44 minute of play.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Steven Homan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Steven Homan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steven Homan in the 57th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SV Balverliefd's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yorrick Zoethout came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Yorrick Zoethout tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because SV Balverliefd had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
