A throw-in in the 4th minute of the game was made by Ionuț Contra with Karl-Michael Brask as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 5th minute, Xerxes Doro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Karl-Michael Brask managed to get in a good position for a shot. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl-Michael Brask was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute Sebastian Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Peter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivan Navarro's late challenge caught a Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivan Navarro helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Ivan Navarro hit a great ball. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Honduras's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Karl-Michael Brask 36 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. In the 40th minute Sebastian Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Peter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute of the match Honduras got a corner. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edmundo Espiga ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 42 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Villa. After 45 minutes, Ulisses Doro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Batalionul U23 Dorobanti and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Batalionul U23 Dorobanti getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Ulisses Doro hit a great ball. Milagros Cabal missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 47 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Flavio Peter right hand side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Karl-Michael Brask made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Karl-Michael Brask blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lautaro Navarro having to make a save. Flavio Peter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 63rd minute of the match. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Edmundo Espiga got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Flavio Peter quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A sloppy throw-in by Ionuț Contra in the 68th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Christian Sancho. In the 70th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Peter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Michael Brask in the 72nd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Michael Brask in the 74th minute of play. When the match clock showed 89 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Karl-Michael Brask sped through Honduras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Petru Novacovici hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. The Batalionul U23 Dorobanti players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
