In the 22nd minute, Caleb Law hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 23 minutes into the match, Congo Bongo's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Máté Márton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ingvar Andersson hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the match, Congo Bongo's Damaso Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Congo Bongo getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ingvar Andersson hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

An unexpected shot in the 54th minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Sancho in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Damaso Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Congo Bongo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Congo Bongo's Arnaldo Oidor was substituted for Damaso Sancho. In the 89th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
