Azerbaijan's Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jasin Jelić in the 7th minute of play. Semir Jakubović came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Azerbaijan's Äşräf Ämrahov. But to his dismay, Äşräf Ämrahov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Azerbaijan's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Muhedin Zovko was slow to take the kick. During this time Bosnia And Hercegovina's players had a chance to rest. Bosnia And Hercegovina's Semir Jakubović played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Äşräf Ämrahov in the 14th minute of play. Azerbaijan were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Bosnia And Hercegovina's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Äli Abdulrähmanov took the corner. Jasin Jelić who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jasin Jelić in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 22 minutes into the match, Bosnia And Hercegovina's Jasin Jelić sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 24th minute Jasin Jelić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Jasin Jelić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Äşräf Ämrahov in the 27th minute of play forced Bosnia And Hercegovina's goalkeeper Semir Jakubović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Äliqulu Vermäliyev came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Azerbaijan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Äliqulu Vermäliyev couldn't finish the play. After 31 played minutes Bosnia And Hercegovina got a freekick which was hit by Dževad Kasimović. Jasin Jelić who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 35th minute Bosnia And Hercegovina were awarded a corner. Muhedin Zovko went to the cornerflag to take it. 35 minutes into the game Muhedin Zovko kicked a great long shot which passed Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov straight ahead into the goal, Result 1-1. One couldn't see Muhedin Zovko behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. If Säftär Güläliyev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Äşräf Ämrahov to strike the kick off in the second half. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jasin Jelić's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute Jasin Jelić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Semir Jakubović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Säftär Güläliyev in the 57th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Azerbaijan's zone, Jasin Jelić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov came out of the goal and Jasin Jelić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute Mehran Utandıbalayev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Semir Jakubović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jasin Jelić in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Jasin Jelić had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov. Azerbaijan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jasin Jelić was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Bosnia And Hercegovina's Branislav Cokić was substituted for Dževad Kasimović. Bosnia And Hercegovina's Beno Perzivović was substituted for Severin Nikić. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Branislav Cokić in the 74th minute of the match. Bosnia And Hercegovina made a substitution. Hakija Hamdić replaced Jahija Selimotić. In the 80thth minute of the game Jasin Jelić who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Azerbaijan's Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 81 minutes, Jasin Jelić made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Azerbaijan's Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jasin Jelić, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. When Bosnia And Hercegovina's Jasin Jelić in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Azerbaijan's goalie prevented a goal. 91 minutes into the match, Azerbaijan's goal looked a bit too open when Jasin Jelić came free, but Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92ndth minute of the game Jasin Jelić who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Azerbaijan's Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Bosnia And Hercegovina players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
