Aristides Loren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugen Pivoda in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Abel Iaki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the game, Jan Neděla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FK Protiwin's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wachipatos de Mataderos the free kick. When Eugen Pivoda fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FK Protiwin's protests and gave Eugen Pivoda a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes FK Protiwin got a freekick which was hit by Eugen Pivoda. Abel Iaki might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vlastislav Petrovský. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abel Iaki ran back to his position shaking his head. Jeremias Esdras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Vlastislav Petrovský tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FK Protiwin's Vlastislav Petrovský proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save FK Protiwin from getting a goal against them. 45 minutes into the game, one of FK Protiwin:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Wachipatos de Mataderos made a substitution. Atilano Domingues replaced Primitivo Dominix. After having played for 66 minutes, Abel Iaki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wachipatos de Mataderos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Iaki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jan Neděla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Aristides Loren made a huge save.
