The Macaco F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-3.

Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingars Miders in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Constantin-Maximilian Vennegoor Of Hesselink in the 54th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
