If Jacek Krzynowek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fryderyk Budzynski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 40th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. FC Autolycus's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Kryspin Lichniak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Kaznocha in the 46th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herbert Kaznocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Fryderyk Budzynski made a huge save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kryspin Lichniak, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 74 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fryderyk Budzynski came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pablo Viator in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pablo Viator was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but FC Autolycus were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
