Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Peru's Julian Murillo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luz Tejedor struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Agustín Rossi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Agustín Rossi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. After 10 minutes Los Trip's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. 15 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Capello came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edelmiro Neto made in the 16th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Cipriano Castro. A sloppy throw-in by Alonso Berganza in the 17th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Los Trip's Teodoro Munhoz. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Agustín Rossi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Agustín Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Bruno Capello might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bruno Capello ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 28th minute Bruno Capello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Bruno Capello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Trip's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Capello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Noboa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Bruno Capello made the kick off in the second half. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Capello in the 53rd minute of play. Julian Murillo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-1 to the left of a surprised Agustín Rossi 56 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Milagros Fraga got free with Agustín Rossi in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. Los Trip made a substitution. CJ Asensio replaced Cipriano Castro. Edelmiro Neto made in the 70th minute of the game a quick throw-in and CJ Asensio immediately put the ball in play. With a little luck, Los Trip's Agustín Rossi got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 79th minute of play forced Los Trip's goalkeeper Agustín Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd play minute Julian Murillo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Agustín Rossi. 0-2. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Los Trip's Luís Fernando Calderón De La Barca was substituted for Bruno Capello. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Edelmiro Neto, made in the 87th minute of the game. Antonio Tenorio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Agustín Rossi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Peru booed when Los Trip was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guido Dimas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Los Trip's goalkeeper Agustín Rossi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eliseo Mina. The Peru players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
