Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) USA's Merlin Castro started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 10 minutes, Alain Berset made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. USA's Matthew Benjamin tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Kim-André van der Schans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cody Miles in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute of the game Elton Brewster made a throw-in which Mitchell Godwin played forward. Kim-André van der Schans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miki Moco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the game, Miki Moco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Kim-André van der Schans was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The throw-in from Elton Brewster in the 28th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Switzerland's Ferris Stock. In the 29th minute, Alain Berset fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 35th minute, Merlin Castro made a precise shot to the right of Kim-André van der Schans. Switzerland's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Alain Berset recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Switzerland players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. USA were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alain Berset was the one to do the kick off. Matthew Benjamin came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Switzerland's Alain Berset. But to his dismay, Alain Berset quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Alain Berset blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matthew Benjamin having to make a save. Kim-André van der Schans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merlin Castro in the 56th minute of play. When Ferris Stock came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Switzerland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferris Stock couldn't finish the play. USA's Joseph Reeder was substituted for Vern Pierre. Switzerland's Endrik Fuchs was substituted for Ingo Minder. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ferris Stock during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 66 played minutes Switzerland got a freekick which was hit by Ferris Stock. Lincoln Hand received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kim-André van der Schans came out and tried to block the shot, but Lincoln Hand slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 66th minute. In the 82nd minute Neron Veterini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthew Benjamin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Kim-André van der Schans managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when USA's Jose Bermudez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Kim-André van der Schans came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by USA's Kerry Sellers. But to his dismay, Kerry Sellers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. After a rather tough play, USA's Kerry Sellers got a free kick in the 94th minute. Roman Beljean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Matthew Benjamin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. USA had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
