The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kim-André van der Schans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 25 minutes into the match, South Korea's goal looked a bit too open when Alain Berset came free, but 박 서문 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Switzerland's Alain Berset in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The corner ended in Ingo Minder almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but South Korea's 박 서문 did a great save. The Switzerland players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. South Korea were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alain Berset stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 김 준 took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kim-André van der Schans. Kim-André van der Schans dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alain Berset in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg 박 서문 saved South Korea from getting behind. 박 서문 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alain Berset, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. South Korea's 최 명 was substituted for Goodness I. South Korea made a substitution. 황보 추 replaced 조 내. South Korea made a substitution. 김 영 replaced Sam Sung. Switzerland's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Endrik Fuchs in the 64th minute. 박 서문 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Herz, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute, Switzerland's Diego Marthaler seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Diego Marthaler the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Switzerland protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Diego Marthaler had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Diego Marthaler kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. South Korea's 김 엽 couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 67th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Switzerland. In the 70th match minute, Switzerland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferris Stock to maneuver through the defense. 박 서문 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Schenker in the 76th minute of play. Kim-André van der Schans came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by South Korea's 황보 추. But to his dismay, 황보 추 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. In the 89th play minute 김 영 came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Kim-André van der Schans. 0-5. 황보 추 kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 96th minute of the match Switzerland got a corner. South Korea's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Endrik Fuchs ran over to the corner to take the kick.
