In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nova Venécia-ES's goalkeeper Robinho de Salles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nova Venécia-ES's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. After 21 minutes Nova Venécia-ES's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Robinho de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 24th minute of play. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The corner led to Nova Venécia-ES's Leonel Paranaense getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After a rather tough play, Nova Venécia-ES's Leonel Paranaense got a free kick in the 29th minute. After a rather tough play, Nova Venécia-ES's Huang Peng Ning got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 32nd minute, Joel Gaona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

A hard and well directed shot from Ace Spade led 54 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Mexico's Dante Lacasa became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 2-2. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 63rd minute, Dino Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Robinho de Salles made a huge save. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Robinho de Salles quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Lautaro Mancebos short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Robinho de Salles to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Paranaense in the 68th minute of the match. After having played for 81 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 84 minutes into the game, Nova Venécia-ES's Natã Quintal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. In the 88th minute Natã Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Gustavo Botelho in the 89th minute of play. Robinho de Salles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Tafalla's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Rouco got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute of the match Valdo Diniz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
