Skövde AIK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kevin Keegan in the 17th minute. The corner led Skövde AIK's Georg Norström to a score. 3-0 in the 18th minute. Skövde AIK's Kevin Keegan got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Kevin Keegan sent off a good shot on target. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kevin Keegan in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the game, one of Skövde AIK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Venezuela a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tomas Illescas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Skövde AIK's Ronnie Hellström. 3-1. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chen Ao Fan in the 37th minute. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Chen Ao Fan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chen Ao Fan in the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Rigoberto Mina's late challenge caught a Skövde AIK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rigoberto Mina helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd minute there was a penalty for Skövde AIK. Kevin Keegan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. 4-1. 54 minutes into the game, Egídio Fernandez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Skövde AIK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. If Chen Ao Fan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute, Chen Ao Fan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 76th minute, Kurt Hamrin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Chen Ao Fan came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes in the game Krister Uggstedt did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Kevin Keegan. In the 85th minute, Georg Norström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. 88 minutes into the game, Georg Norström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Skövde AIK's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronnie Hellström came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Skövde AIK had played much better football throughout.
