Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ahmad Reza Asadi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ahmad Reza Asadi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Cristian Sancho sped through Santos Campineiro's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ahmad Reza Asadi. Anibal Enekoitz kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Santos Campineiro's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmad Reza Asadi came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ahmad Reza Asadi. Santos Campineiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Ahmad Reza Asadi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of play. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anibal Enekoitz went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score.

Santos Campineiro made a substitution. Sidney Albuquerque replaced Anibal Enekoitz. The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 58 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ahmad Reza Asadi was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Santos Campineiro's Ahmad Reza Asadi got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Santos Campineiro's goalkeeper Ahmad Reza Asadi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustín Saelices. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Santos Campineiro getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Edgar Pitta hit a great ball. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 73rd minute, but Ahmad Reza Asadi got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Santos Campineiro hanging dry this time. 76 minutes into the match, Santos Campineiro's goalkeeper Ahmad Reza Asadi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Sidnei Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidnei Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Sidnei Baptista came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 91 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Santos Campineiro's Ahmad Reza Asadi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Santos Campineiro from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
