If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Ingelbert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind KV Schoonwater's goalkeeper Daniel Ingelbert, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 36th minute of play forced KV Schoonwater's goalkeeper Daniel Ingelbert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

KV Schoonwater's Daniel Ingelbert proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save KV Schoonwater from getting a goal against them. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by KV Schoonwater's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but KV Schoonwater's Daniel Ingelbert did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sem Roekeloos in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to KV Schoonwater getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Lucas Van Geertruyden hit a great ball. 75 minutes into the match, KV Schoonwater's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Daniel Ingelbert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 77 minutes, Daniel Ingelbert successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in KV Schoonwater's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Ingelbert came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. KV Schoonwater's Sven-Edvin Viklund got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elias Geraerts's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elias Geraerts helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ecuador booed when KV Schoonwater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Geraerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Sebastián Puig was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 90 minutes into the match. Refael De Boeck charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Refael De Boeck the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to KV Schoonwater getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Refael De Boeck hit a great ball. In the 98th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
