Match Report

Stadio Montesacro
Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0)
The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jeremias Mark took the kick off in the first half of the match. Christophe Rau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 3rd minute of play. After 5 minutes of play, Chile's Orlando Casaus made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christophe Rau was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 9th minute of play forced Talenti Roma Calcio's goalkeeper Christophe Rau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Talenti Roma Calcio's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christophe Rau came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, Talenti Roma Calcio's Thiago Pliego threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jeremias Mark, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Jeremias Mark stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Jeremias Mark tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Buğrahan Vecih had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Buğrahan Vecih tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mariano Lacasa took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christophe Rau. Christophe Rau dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Christophe Rau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 38th minute of the match. In the 45th minute Guillermo Fontirroig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christophe Rau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Lacasa was the one to do the kick off. Mariano Lacasa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Christophe Rau skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A hard shot 52 in the game by Mariano Lacasa from a close distance when the talented Christophe Rau managed to make a qualified save. Talenti Roma Calcio's players were relieved. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Christophe Rau made a huge save. Mariano Lacasa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Christophe Rau firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Jeremias Mark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Buğrahan Vecih in the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st minute of the match Talenti Roma Calcio got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Celso Bibiano ran over to the corner to take the kick. Talenti Roma Calcio's Celso Bibiano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Thiago Pliego in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jeremias Mark struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Thiago Pliego didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Talenti Roma Calcio. The audience was convinced that Jeremias Mark's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Mark in the 72nd minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Talenti Roma Calcio's goalkeeper Christophe Rau had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orlando Casaus. Talenti Roma Calcio's Christophe Rau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 78th minute of play. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremias Mark in the 80th minute of play. After 81 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Celso Bibiano who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Chile's goalie and right to Aldo Ianni. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Chile's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Lacasa charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mariano Lacasa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Talenti Roma Calcio's Fabiano Palmucci was substituted for Buğrahan Vecih. The supporters of Talenti Roma Calcio booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Lacasa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Fabiano Palmucci notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Chile's Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
