Costa Rica's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Axel Tasis in the 19th minute. Armando Polidori came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig. But to his dismay, Lautaro Puig quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. XMAS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ferruccio Cesaroni in the 27th minute. The corner led XMAS's Ferruccio Cesaroni to fire away a dangerous shot which Benito Sanz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Aaron Alcocer's late challenge caught a XMAS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Alcocer helped the player get up and apologised. After 28 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. Alessio Ascoli hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ennio De Nardis. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberigo Gianfrancesco in the 38th minute of play. Concetto Marinucci kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberigo Gianfrancesco in the 45th minute of play. After 47 minutes, Alan Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the XMAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Costa Rica were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Armando Polidori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberigo Gianfrancesco in the 56th minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Minichiello came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, XMAS's Ferruccio Cesaroni got a free kick in the 68th minute. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 69th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for XMAS. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when XMAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Alessandrini didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 75 minutes, Lautaro Puig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the XMAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of XMAS booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Minichiello, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Ennio De Nardis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernesto Minichiello's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 89th minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernesto Minichiello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere.
