Waldir Urbano might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 17th match minute, Tasso FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Antunes to maneuver through the defense. If Waldir Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 21 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Waldir Urbano came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silverio Corderun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 23rd minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Gisbert. Waldir Urbano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldir Urbano in the 37th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Waldir Urbano sent off a good shot on target. After 43 played minutes Tasso FC got a freekick which was hit by Sebastián Coates. Silverio Corderun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 45th minute.

If Waldir Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes in the game Salvador Gisbert did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Patricio Costa. In a very dangerous position, a player in Venezuela fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 58th minute. Penalty! In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Tasso FC fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Tasso FC's Waldir Urbano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 69 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Miguel Sequeira who took care of the corner kick. When Waldir Urbano came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Tasso FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldir Urbano couldn't finish the play. Tasso FC's Waldir Urbano got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tasso FC's Juca Tasso was substituted for Miguel Sequeira. Tasso FC's Silverio Corderun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 75th minute of play. Venezuela's Jose Correa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Caio Mendes, made in the 77th minute of the game. Normando Fiúza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silverio Corderun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Normando Fiúza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Normando Fiúza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Tasso FC's Pinto Valer was substituted for Caio Mendes.
