Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Campania Athletic Club's Edmondo Biagetti. But to his dismay, Edmondo Biagetti quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 7 minutes into the match, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cane Di Dio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Campania Athletic Club's Cane Di Dio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 8th minute of play. In the 12th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cane Di Dio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cane Di Dio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 14th minute of play. Cane Di Dio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Domenico Di Marino. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. After 21 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cane Di Dio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Flavio Desiderio went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 39 minutes into the match, Campania Athletic Club's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Cane Di Dio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cane Di Dio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Desiderio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. 47 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Rodel Francisco came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Alberto Tafalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cane Di Dio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, Felix Luque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute of the match Concetto Di Iulio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa skillfully saved the ball. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Concetto Di Iulio in the 61st minute of play. With a little luck, Campania Athletic Club's Cane Di Dio got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute Flavio Desiderio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 74th minute, Edmondo Biagetti left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Campania Athletic Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Campania Athletic Club's Franco Sessa was substituted for Flavio Desiderio. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franco Sessa, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute, Franco Sessa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
