The supporters of Colombia booed when FC CSKA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Todor Yanchev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Manzanares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ahmet Refik Ülgü showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. After 22 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Tafalla. After some careless play in the FC CSKA defense, Santino Seco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Georgi Velinov. The FC CSKA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Georgi Velinov should have stopped the shot. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 32nd minute of the match. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 33rd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Georgi Velinov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santino Seco in the 34th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, Axel Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Georgi Velinov. FC CSKA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Ahmet Refik Ülgü received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pedro Manzanares came out and tried to block the shot, but Ahmet Refik Ülgü slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 42nd minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abram Sarmiento made a kick off. In the 51st minute Ahmet Refik Ülgü shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ahmet Refik Ülgü blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Manzanares having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 56th minute of play forced FC CSKA's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute of the match FC CSKA got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ronaldinho de Carvalho ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 92nd minute, Abram Secada fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Georgi Velinov, passed just outside the right post. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by FC CSKA's Ruslan Dzhalev. But to his dismay, Ruslan Dzhalev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-2. FC CSKA's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
