Guillermo Mariano charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guillermo Mariano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th minute, one of Venezuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Venezuela. In the 22nd minute, Sava Dodov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 26th minute Roch Fedosz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute Sava Dodov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 37 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomas Illescas scored 1-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bozhin Palakarchev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zlatko Stumbov, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zlatko Stumbov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Bozhin Palakarchev made a huge save. When Bilyan Púntov fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Knights Templar's protests and gave Bilyan Púntov a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Knights Templar's Bilyan Púntov got a free kick in the 62nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hristiyan Tzukev during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hristiyan Tzukev hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Roch Fedosz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The goalkeeper, Bozhin Palakarchev, was totally fooled by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas, who 74 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 77thth minute of the game Zlatko Stumbov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Knights Templar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dancho Trifonov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Zlatko Stumbov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
