Lautaro Puig blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Birkan Yağın having to make a save. 17 minutes into the match, ÇALIMLI's Barnabé Amice sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 19th minute of the match ÇALIMLI got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Barnabé Amice ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 20th minute Nestor Paraibano clashed with another player. He fell to the ground and was in great pain. It was obvious that he couldn't finish the game. 21 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ÇALIMLI the free kick. 24 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Doğan Zakir came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Lautaro Puig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barnabé Amice, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Doğan Zakir made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Barnabé Amice stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Barnabé Amice came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Fabiano Jacinto kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Barnabé Amice took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's Alan Moruga quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ahmet Ege Hacıahmetoğlu, made in the 72nd minute of the game. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barnabé Amice in the 77th minute of play. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Luiz Fabiano Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ÇALIMLI were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
