When Veth Crystals's Gwidon Patora in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mexico's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gwidon Patora in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Marcos Lama showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 9th minute of the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Marcos Lama took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Veth Crystals getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Teofil Walczyk hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Veth Crystals's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Lama came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lautaro Mancebo took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Lama. Marcos Lama dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. Luca Zorita was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Marcos Lama didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Persson in the 35th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Gwidon Patora took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Dante Lacasa to make any attempt to save it. In the 46th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Lama saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Persson, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 52 minutes into the match, Veth Crystals's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Marcos Lama reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 53rd minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Luca Zorita heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Veth Crystals's Nedas Jameikis was substituted for Alejandro Bullon. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Marcos Lama threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
