The corner was taken by Jan-Ove Tunander in the 19th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodolfo Anaya read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Faustão Melo came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Faustão Melo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tacheros OFF's Rodolfo Anaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 36th minute of play. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 37th minute. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Faustão Melo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Tacheros OFF booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan-Ove Tunander struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tacheros OFF. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When Tacheros OFF's Mattin Solbeida in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Mattin Solbeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustão Melo in the 58th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mattin Solbeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodolfo Anaya saved Tacheros OFF from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Tacheros OFF's Adolfo Blanco got a free kick in the 69th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Najarro in the 72nd minute of the match. After having played for 74 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodolfo Anaya made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Rodolfo Anaya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 81st minute of the match. The supporters of Tacheros OFF booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 minutes of play, Tacheros OFF's Mattin Solbeida made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Rodolfo Anaya tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
