The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Cosa nostra Lyon booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Erwann Patrice sent off a good shot on target. In the 14th minute Junior Quintana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Junior Quintana sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. After 19 played minutes Cosa nostra Lyon got a freekick which was hit by Ludovic Le Gac. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Erwann Patrice scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 2-0. After having played for 25 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Junior Quintana, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 35th minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, Cosa nostra Lyon's Félicien Boidin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willy Hautefeuille, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Félicien Boidin in the 41st minute of play. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Félicien Boidin was slow to take the kick. During this time Cosa nostra Lyon's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Cosa nostra Lyon's Félicien Boidin to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Junior Quintana took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Félicien Boidin in the 54th minute of play. Tomas Illescas's late challenge caught a Cosa nostra Lyon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomas Illescas helped the player get up and apologised. Félicien Boidin took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. In the 69thth minute of the game Junior Quintana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Erwann Patrice stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Erwann Patrice tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Félicien Boidin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, Tim Ménet notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 81st minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Tim Ménet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Tim Ménet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 84 minutes, Junior Quintana made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th minute, Tim Ménet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 90th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Chicote to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Ménet in the 92nd minute of play. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Junior Quintana in the 95th minute of the match. Cosa nostra Lyon's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
