Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Montenegro in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan Wessel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dolf Schoonderwoerd in the 28th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Colombia booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luiz Linares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piearres Olalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Axel Montenegro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jan Wessel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Axel Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jan Wessel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Kevin Mastache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Jan Wessel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

After 50 played minutes The Underdogs got a freekick which was hit by Frank de Boer. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Boelens in the 53rd minute of the match. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jan Wessel made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Axel Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piearres Olalla in the 68th minute of play. If Axel Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jan Wessel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Montenegro in the 69th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Boelens came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, The Underdogs's goalkeeper Jan Wessel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Montenegro. In the 87th minute Emil Kyurpanov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Underdogs's Riemer Fries was substituted for Frank de Boer. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. Riemer Fries got a throw-in 93 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Dolf Schoonderwoerd. In the 95th minute, Robin Boelens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1.
