Sidney Eldridge didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Villa went, in the 2nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Sidney Eldridge stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sidney Eldridge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brannik's Ignacio Emerson got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the game, Valentín Carvallo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Honduras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brannik the free kick. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Valentín Carvallo got a free kick in the 21st minute. Moises Ponce struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brannik. 25 minutes into the match, Edmundo Espiga notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Brannik's Sidney Eldridge. Sidney Eldridge was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brannik's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sidney Eldridge saved Brannik from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Edmundo Espiga put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Sidney Eldridge. After the first half Honduras were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Honduras's Edmundo Espiga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sidney Eldridge. That made the score 0-5 after 51 minutes of play. Sidney Eldridge was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Brannik defense, Edmundo Espiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sidney Eldridge. The Brannik fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sidney Eldridge should have stopped the shot. Sidney Eldridge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 77th minute, Edmundo Espiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sidney Eldridge was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. In the 80th minute, Sebastian Villa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Honduras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-9. The supporters of Honduras booed when Brannik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Byron Tanner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sidney Eldridge made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 90th minute. Edmundo Espiga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Sidney Eldridge skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Tafalla in the 95th minute of play forced Brannik's goalkeeper Sidney Eldridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Brannik's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Sidney Eldridge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honduras played a much better game than Brannik and deserved their victory. The Brannik players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
