The supporters of Ecuador booed when Tractorul Satulung -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wesley Sneijder didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Sneijder in the 11th minute of play. Laurențiu Gaciu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felix Montenegro went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Laurențiu Gaciu. Laurențiu Gaciu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mădălin Cangeopol in the 33rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play forced Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s goalkeeper Laurențiu Gaciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laurențiu Gaciu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Mădălin Cangeopol came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. The Tractorul Satulung -MM- players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mădălin Cangeopol made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Sneijder in the 54th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Mădălin Cangeopol's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Cristian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Laurențiu Gaciu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tractorul Satulung -MM- throughout the match.
