Opus Dei's Hugon Raszkiewicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 7th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo Wall in the 9th minute of play. The supporters of Opus Dei booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 15th minute of play forced Opus Dei's goalkeeper Hugon Raszkiewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the game, one of Opus Dei:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The supporters of Opus Dei booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Oséas Silveira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 30 played minutes Opus Dei got a freekick which was hit by Olaf Wojno. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oséas Silveira in the 37th minute. Hugon Raszkiewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 40th minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hugon Raszkiewicz quite easily take care of the ball. In the 42nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. Konrad Pietras kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Hugon Raszkiewicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olaf Wojno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hugon Raszkiewicz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Despite being the better team, Venezuela failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
