Severiano Raymon came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by El Salvador's Marco Tamayo. But to his dismay, Marco Tamayo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jorge Magrina hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 20 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Álvarez's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Fernandino came free, but Severiano Raymon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Severiano Raymon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Fernandino in the 21st minute of the match. Marco Tamayo scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Severiano Raymon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 28 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Mateo Leguizamo. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Flavio Pio quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Valentino Ferrant, made in the 33rd minute of the game. 36 minutes into the game, Moises Fernandino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Severiano Raymon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Severiano Raymon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abram Luque went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Joshua Curbelo kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Joshua Curbelo hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alejo Ereinotz to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportivo Álvarez's zone, Abram Luque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severiano Raymon came out of the goal and Abram Luque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Club Deportivo Álvarez's attentive Gabriel Huly managed to snatch the ball when Luis Rubio made a throw-in in the 78th minute of the game. 80 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Peio came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Severiano Raymon managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when El Salvador's Moises Fernandino fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Evaristo Ibar managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Joshua Curbelo in the 88 minute of the game. Club Deportivo Álvarez's Epifanio Silviano quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luis Rubio, made in the 90th minute of the game. A sloppy throw-in by Luis Rubio in the 94th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Club Deportivo Álvarez's Epifanio Silviano. The El Salvador supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Salvador would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
