A hard shot 12 in the game by Živko Dabović from a close distance when the talented Marcos Cotilla managed to make a qualified save. Panama's players were relieved. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frédson Melo in the 16th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frédson Melo in the 16th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th match minute, Catalin Haldan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frédson Melo to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavi Liib saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olavi Liib took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 28 minutes, Abraham Alguacil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Alguacil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute, Panama's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Frédson Melo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Olavi Liib showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Alguacil in the 33rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Catalin Haldan's Živko Dabović slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 3-0 after 35 minutes of play. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Catalin Haldan's Olavi Liib played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Berganza was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavi Liib saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Živko Dabović in the 52nd minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Živko Dabović notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 61 minutes of play, Catalin Haldan's Frédson Melo made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! 67 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Valder Gausbo came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frédson Melo in the 68th minute of the match. Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Olavi Liib tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Berganza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olavi Liib read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Catalin Haldan's Olavi Liib proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Catalin Haldan from getting a goal against them. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frédson Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frédson Melo in the 90th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Eugen Morozan notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
