Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 庄奕真. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 40th minute, 郝霆剑 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 郝霆剑 blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 郝霆剑 blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 郝霆剑 in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 郝霆剑, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. A nice corner shot did that 谢旭宽 got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but 庄奕真 made a huge save. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 63 minutes play.
