El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. Moises Fernandino scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Niceto Virila, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Honorio Aztore struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nuevo Horizonte. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulino Katia in the 26th minute of play. El Salvador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Baldomero Lapurdi scored to the left of an out of position Ricardo Zorita, making the score, 1-1. When Hernan Gumaro fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nuevo Horizonte's protests and gave Hernan Gumaro a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Nuevo Horizonte's Hernan Gumaro got a free kick in the 31st minute. Niceto Virila didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moises Fernandino went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Baldomero Lapurdi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ricardo Zorita came out and tried to block the shot, but Baldomero Lapurdi slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 38th minute. 43 minutes into the game, Guido Lucero threw the ball into play from the sideline. El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Luque in the 47th minute of play forced Nuevo Horizonte's goalkeeper Niceto Virila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Baldomero Lapurdi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th play minute Moises Fernandino came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Niceto Virila. 2-3. If Paulino Katia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Nuevo Horizonte defense, Moises Fernandino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Niceto Virila. The Nuevo Horizonte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Niceto Virila should have stopped the shot. Valentino Ferrant hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moises Fernandino during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mateo Leguizamo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulino Katia, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute Abram Luque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niceto Virila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulino Katia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the match, Nuevo Horizonte's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Fernandino came free, but Niceto Virila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
