In the 45th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Berganza to maneuver through the defense. Estudiantes de rio IV's Emilio Palos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Berganza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Estudiantes de rio IV's goalkeeper Emilio Palos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dalmacio Musko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Estudiantes de rio IV's Candido Chan got his second yellow card of the match in the 79th minute. The referee ordered Candido Chan off the ground. A collision led to Estudiantes de rio IV getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Candido Chan hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Segundo Gaxan came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute, Miguel Miralles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Panama's Miguel Miralles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emilio Palos narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
