Albert Petruescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias Daryana, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The audience was convinced that Joel Gaona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elano Salgado was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Lautaro Mancebo hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elano Salgado having to interfere. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luca Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elano Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 39th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Luca Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elano Salgado was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias Daryana in the 50th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sobur Barenz, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Petruescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sansan Fingkreuw in the 59th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonello Valcareggi replaced Sansan Fingkreuw. After 72 minutes PS Banyuwangi's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but PS Banyuwangi's Elano Salgado did a great save. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ren Ang Ying, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jaroslav Štefl kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. A hard shot by Joel Gaona from long distance, 78 minutes into the match, got Elano Salgado's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 79th minute, Ren Ang Ying left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PS Banyuwangi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 83 played minutes PS Banyuwangi got a freekick which was hit by Zulfikar Tampubolon. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to PS Banyuwangi getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Dominggus Maulana hit a great ball. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute Udin Petot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
