With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathan Alphonse in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cássio Gaspar saved ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS from getting behind. 20 minutes into the game, one of Haiti:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 22 minutes, ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS's Zé Paulo Rocha got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Noel Seide. The supporters of ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS booed when Haiti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernso Constant didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute Enrique Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Seide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Enrique Paiva almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Haiti's Noel Seide did a great save. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonathan Alphonse to make the kick off. After 61 minutes, Zé Paulo Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS and the Haiti players grew even worse after the yellow card. ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS made a substitution. Luís Paulo Hoffmann replaced Wesley Mendonça. Zé Paulo Rocha hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Ernso Constant recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodney Emmanuel hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Haroldo Corrêa in the 71st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Haiti's Rodney Emmanuel. 72 minutes into the game, Ernso Constant was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Haiti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ZONA NOROESTE - SANTOS the free kick. Ernso Constant hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Cássio Gaspar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonathan Alphonse in the 76th minute. Haiti's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathan Alphonse was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cássio Gaspar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cássio Gaspar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonathan Alphonse's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. Ernso Constant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio Gaspar having to interfere. Haiti's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
