After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Juan Raúl Riquelme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. It was a penalty for Colombia! Juan Raúl Riquelme scored 2-0 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Abram Sarmiento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teo Pacorro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After a rather tough play, Inter Miami CF's Everardo Enmanuel got a free kick in the 35th minute. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Blas Urtungo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juan Raúl Riquelme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Colombia's Kevin Mastache quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Piara Lider, made in the 51st minute of the game. In the 54th minute, Amado Muc left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Inter Miami CF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After some careless play in the Inter Miami CF defense, Abram Sarmiento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teo Pacorro. The Inter Miami CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teo Pacorro should have stopped the shot. Teo Pacorro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 60th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Teo Pacorro threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abram Sarmiento, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Inter Miami CF supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Colombia's performance. The match ended with a win for Colombia.
