Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Pedro José Solminihac sent off a good shot on target. Moises Fernandino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Maximiliano Aguirrebeña tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lorenzo Yepes kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. ⓅⓀⓇ Unión San Felipe ★★★★'s Florinio Abbatte shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 38th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ricardo Zorita but with some difficulty. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Luis Rubio hit a great ball. Marco Tamayo charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Tamayo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 45 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Marco Tamayo. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Carlos Dueñas to make the kick off. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Abram Luque charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abram Luque the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Maximiliano Aguirrebeña took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
