Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Price having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Characate FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Benjamin Price reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Luis Andino notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Characate FC's Benjamin Price. Benjamin Price was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leopoldo Afonso made a kick off. Zacarias Francesco kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 95 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador played a much better game than Characate FC and deserved their victory. The Characate FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
