An unexpectedly hard shot by Ervigio Ojeda in the 9th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Paul Ramon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 13 minutes of play, Chile's Ervigio Ojeda made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paul Ramon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Enrique Enoch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Cassaretto in the 16th minute of the match. Peru's Fe Nestares was substituted for Marino Pacheco. Rogelio Mendiola who after having made a long run got a chance for a shot on goal. Despite a couple of nice moves Paul Ramon's wasn't to be fooled and made an easy save when Rogelio Mendiola was beeing forced to shoot. Peru's Paul Ramon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ervigio Ojeda in the 29th minute of play. Enrique Enoch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrique Cassaretto, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Paul Ramon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ervigio Ojeda went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Enrique Cassaretto was extremely unlucky when he, in the 42nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 44th minute Enrique Cassaretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Enoch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Peru players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chile were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ervigio Ojeda to make the kick off. Chile made a substitution. Juan Mondaca replaced Ervigio Ojeda. Juan Mondaca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Ramon having to interfere. Peru's Jorrin Briones was substituted for Enrique Cassaretto. In the 69th minute Juan Mondaca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Ramon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Peru's Paul Ramon got control of the ball when Juan Mondaca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chile were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bautista Marcó took the corner. After taking down the ball on Chile's corner Don Domingo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Paul Ramon quite easily take care of the ball. Paul Ramon came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Juan Mondaca. But to his dismay, Juan Mondaca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Paul Ramon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abundio Manzano in the 86th minute. The Chile fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Chile's Juan Mondaca looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the final whistle sounded Chile left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Peru.
