Tomas Berganza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 3 minutes into the game, 박 황 was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bayer 04 Leverkusen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. A collision led to Bayer 04 Leverkusen getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. 박 황 hit a great ball. 4 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Bayer 04 Leverkusen's Horácio Rossi. Horácio Rossi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 8 minutes into the match, Bayer 04 Leverkusen's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Horácio Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 조 심, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when 유 해 tried to sneak it across the goal line. Horácio Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Alguacil in the 14th minute of the match. Horácio Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 17th minute of play. A hard shot 22 in the game by 유 해 from a close distance when the talented Marcos Cotilla managed to make a qualified save. Panama's players were relieved. 유 해s short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Marcos Cotilla to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Bayer 04 Leverkusen booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Cambeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horácio Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Alguacil, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Abraham Alguacil blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horácio Rossi having to make a save. Horácio Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 32nd minute of the match. 조 심 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 41st minute of play forced Bayer 04 Leverkusen's goalkeeper Horácio Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with Horácio Rossi in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The goalkeeper, Horácio Rossi, was totally fooled by Panama's Abraham Alguacil, who 65 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During this time Bayer 04 Leverkusen's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in 박 황 almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla did a great save. 박 황 struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Marcos Cotilla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 유 해 in the 85th minute of play. When Alex Cambeiro came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Cambeiro couldn't finish the play. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Horácio Rossi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Panama eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
