Dani Cochrane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 12th minute of play. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dani Cochrane having to interfere. Australian Youth Academy's Dani Cochrane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 21st minute of play. After 25 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Gisbert. Ollie Flesfadar's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ollie Flesfadar helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Australian Youth Academy getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ollie Flesfadar hit a great ball. Alex Chicote charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alex Chicote the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 33 minutes, Tomas Illescas made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Australian Youth Academy's Dani Cochrane tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dani Cochrane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute, Patricio Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dani Cochrane was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Olliver Todman made the kick off in the second half. Dani Cochrane was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Tomas Illescas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Illescas really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. 60 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Dani Cochrane had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Dani Cochrane made a huge save. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Dani Cochrane when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Patricio Costa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dani Cochrane came out and tried to block the shot, but Patricio Costa slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 74th minute. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Tomas Illescas in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dani Cochrane, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 85 played minutes Patricio Costa rounded Australian Youth Academy's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-7. After 90 minutes, Joshua Secada mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Australian Youth Academy players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Joshua Secada hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 93rdth minute, Dani Cochrane skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 94 minutes into the match, Patricio Costa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dani Cochrane, 0-8. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match.
