ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Tautvydas Mickevičius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 4th minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gogo Azibar during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 11 played minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a freekick which was hit by Gogo Azibar. Tautvydas Mickevičius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Villa, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After 14 minutes, Damaso Checa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Honduras booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damaso Checa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Espiga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tautvydas Mickevičius. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Honduras's Sebastian Villa got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 19 minutes of play, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tautvydas Mickevičius was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tautvydas Mickevičius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 21st minute of play. The corner ended in Edmundo Espiga almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Tautvydas Mickevičius did a great save. When Sebastian Villa came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Villa couldn't finish the play. Tautvydas Mickevičius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 25th minute of the match. In the 25th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tautvydas Mickevičius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tautvydas Mickevičius prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lucio Txordon kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. 54 minutes in the game Ivan Navarro did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Sebastian Villa. In the 55th minute, Osvaldo Gabon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 57th minute of the game Valentín Carvallo made a throw-in which Sebastian Villa played forward. Ivan Navarro made in the 60th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Sebastian Villa. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Tautvydas Mickevičius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Espinar in the 63rd minute of play. Edmundo Espiga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Tautvydas Mickevičius skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 90th minute, Sebastian Villa fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tautvydas Mickevičius, passed just outside the right post. After 93rd play minutes Edmundo Espiga shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Tautvydas Mickevičius and just under the crossbar into goal. When the final whistle sounded Honduras left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA.
