Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Perlaza Lena sent off a good shot on target. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tenorio Reiriz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Lorenzo Viergol sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldinho Gentenaar in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Barcelona de América's Tenorio Reiriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 21st minute of play. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 23rd minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Alonso Berganza heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Elias Pettersson might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elias Pettersson ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Gentenaar in the 30th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tenorio Reiriz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Efraim Gilabert hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tenorio Reiriz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Zé Chen, made in the 45th minute of the game.

Barcelona de América made a substitution. Thomas Ravousis replaced Lorenzo Viergol. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zayvion Ispuzua to strike the kick off in the second half. Barcelona de América's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Julian Murillo scored to the left of an out of position Tenorio Reiriz, making the score, 1-1. 63 minutes into the game, Zé Chen threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Alonso Berganza quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 67 minutes into the match, Barcelona de América's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Tenorio Reiriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes into the game, Zé Chen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barcelona de América's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peru the free kick. After 69 played minutes Barcelona de América got a freekick which was hit by Zé Chen. The throw-in from Moises Gayoso in the 72nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Barcelona de América's Zé Chen. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Zayvion Ispuzua kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Luz Tejedor took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Tenorio Reiriz to make any attempt to save it. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. In the 89th minute, Rafael Gallo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tenorio Reiriz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Peru's attentive Alonso Berganza managed to snatch the ball when Zé Chen made a throw-in in the 93rd minute of the game.
